Before Uncle Trevor’s Pepper Sauce became a brand, it was simply part of life in Central Trinidad. Uncle Trevor was born and raised in Central, and this is where the story of the sauce began more than 40 years ago. It was made at home, shared with family and friends, and carried to work for coworkers who quickly became some of its biggest supporters.
There was no business plan behind it back then.
People simply liked the pepper sauce.
They enjoyed the flavor, they asked for more, and Uncle Trevor kept making it.
In many ways, that’s how some of the best things in Trinidad and Tobago start. Somebody makes something good at home, somebody else gets a taste, and before you know it, everybody wants to know when you’re making more.
For Uncle Trevor, Central wasn’t just where he lived. It was where he developed his way of making pepper sauce. It was where years of trial, adjustment and experience turned a homemade mixture into something people remembered.
And while a lot has changed since those early days, we haven’t forgotten where it came from.
Today, bottles are reaching people well beyond the communities where the sauce first started. New customers are discovering it, people are sharing it with friends and family, and what was once carried to work for coworkers to enjoy is slowly finding its way onto more tables.
But wherever Uncle Trevor’s Pepper Sauce goes, Central will always be part of its story.
Because this isn’t a recipe we created to start a business.
The business was created around a pepper sauce that already had a history.
